On June 27, 2019, Academia Europaea released the results of the election of academicians in 2019. Professor Zhenjiang Hu and Professor Daqing Zhang from the Department of computer science and technology of the school of information science and technology of Peking University were elected as foreign associates.
Academia Europaea, founded in 1988 and headquartered in London, UK, is jointly sponsored by the Royal Society and several national academies representing the highest academic level of Europe. It covers many disciplines such as natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences, humanities, economics, and law. It is one of the most influential international scientific organizations with the highest academic status.
