On October 26, 2018, the China Computer Federation (CCF) Awards Banquet was held at the 2018 China National Computer Congress (CNCC2018). More than 500 guests including CCF council members, supervisors, and representatives of CNCC, major media and sponsors, and international academic organizations, were invited to attend the banquet.

Professor Xuanzhe Liu won this year's CCF-IEEE CS Young Scientist Award for “outstanding contributions to the field of service-based software engineering methods and systems”, together with two other young scientists.

CCF has initiated the CCF Young Scientist Award since 2010, aiming to award young scholars who have outstanding achievements and important contributions in scientific research and are younger than 40 years of age. Since 2016, the award winner is changed to be selected and awarded by the Computer Branch of the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE Computer Society, IEEE-CS) jointly. The award is selected once a year, with no more than three winners each time.

Professor Xuanzhe Liu graduated from Peking University with a bachelor degree and a doctoral degree. He has long been engaged in research on service-based software engineering methods and systems, and obtained systematic results. He has published more than 70 papers in top-tier journals and conferences of computer software and computer system such as the ACM/IEEE Transactions, WWW, ICSE, MobiCom, OOPSLA, etc. He has won the Best Paper Award of international conferences for three times with two other nominations. Two of his papers were selected as the IEEE spotlight paper. He has won the CCF’s Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Awardand the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Nomination Award. In 2017, he was selected as a Young Scholar in the Chang Jiang Scholars Award Program of the Ministry of Education. As the main contributor, he won the first prize for scientific and technological achievements in scientific research (science and technology) in colleges and universities, and the only special prize for technological invention by the Chinese Institute of Electronics to date. His research outcomes were adopted by well-known companies such as IBM, Kingdee, Wandoujia, Kika Tech, etc., and were used in many fields such as e-government, mobile Internet, and big data, serving hundreds of millions of users in more than 70 countries and regions around the world. In addition, the doctoral students he supervised have published first-author papers in well-known journals and conferences in the field of computer science. Three of them have been funded by the Microsoft PhD Fellowship and the IBM PhD Fellowship.
