Recently, the winners of the ACM SIGMOBILE China Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award were announced, and Xu Mengwei, a 2020 graduate of the Institute of Software of the Department of Computer Science and Technology of Peking University, was selected, and is also the only winner of this year's award.

Dr. Xu Mengwei entered the School of Information Science and Technology of Peking University in 2011 as an undergraduate student, and in 2015, he entered the Institute of Software of Peking University for a doctoral degree under the supervision of Professor Huang Gang and Liu Zhenzhe as associate professors. After graduating with a doctorate in 2020, he entered the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications as an associate researcher and doctoral supervisor. During his Ph.D., Dr. Xu Mengwei published a number of high-level international academic conference papers in top conferences and journals such as MobiCom, MobiSys, WWW, UbiComp, and TMC (see his personal homepage https://xumengwei.github.io/), and the results were used by well-known companies such as Kika Tech, and have served tens of millions of Internet users in many countries and regions.

ACM SIGMOBILE China Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award is an award authorized by ACM China Council to recognize the scientific achievements of doctoral students in the field of mobile computing and wireless networking in China and further promote their academic development and progress. Each category can have a maximum of three winners per year, and the first-ranked candidate can be recommended for the Doctoral Dissertation Award of the ACM China Council.
