PKU-Wandoujia (https://www.wandoujia.com/index) joint lab mainly focuses on mobile service oriented engineering and large-scale user behavior analysis, and has produced coordination work like app usage patterns.
Selected Research Results:
¨ A framework for mining and understanding important usage patterns from large-scare user behavior data has been developed jointly by a team led by PKU-SEI member Xuanzhe Liu and collaborators at UIUC, University of Michigan, and Wandoujia. The prevalence of smart mobile devices has promoted the popularity of mobile applications. Supporting mobility has become a promising trend in software engineering research. With management activities of 0.28 million Android apps by 17 million unique users, a comprehensive empirical study to reveal the app usage patterns has been conducted, and open opportunities and challenges to the research community have been suggested. This user behavior pattern mining framework and its applications to address typical SE problems (i.e., device prioritization with fragmentation and user adoption prediction) are described in an ICSE 2016 paper and a TSE 2018 article (spotlight paper).
