On November 7, 2018, "World's Leading Internet Technology Achievements Release Event" took place at the Fifth World Internet Conference. YanCloud DaaS, developed by the team led by Academician Hong Mei and Professor Gang Huang of Software Engineering Insisute, was selected as one of the 15 World's Leading Internet Technology Achievements. Professor Gang Huang published the achievement at the event.
Information technology has formed millions of information silos after more than 20 years of networked development, containing huge amount of valuable data. Opening information silos and achieving efficient interoperability of their business data and functionalities with third-party systems has become a major requirement for the development of big data, being recognized as a world-class challenge.
Traditional interoperability technology adopts the "white box" idea, that is, manually rebuilding the information island on the basis of a comprehensive understanding of the internal implementation details, which is low efficient, expensive, and risky. The team led by Hong Mei and Gang Huang has discovered a reflection loop based on cloud-client-convergence characteristics in the information system and invented the resource reflection mechanism and efficient interoperability technology of the cloud-client-convergence system after more than ten years of research on system software. Regarding the information system as a black box, this technology realizes efficient interoperability of business data and functions through monitoring and controlling the client of the system externally. By eliminating the “white box” dependency on the source code, database table, background permissions, and the original development team, the efficiency of breaking the information silos can achieve an increase of hundreds of times on average.
Peking University and Beijing Internetware Co., Ltd. jointly developed the YanCloud DaaS platform that supports efficient and interoperable cloud-client-convergence systems, and jointly launched dozens of products and solutions with well-known companies such as Digital China, Lenovo, and Alibaba Cloud, which are widely used in the construction of digital government, Internet+ government services and smart cities in multiple ministries and commissions, provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. In addition, the products have been applied to many industries such as energy, textile and food in the field of industrial big data. The YanCloud DaaS platform has become a common key technology that supports the ecological development of China's big data industry.
The world's leading scientific and technological achievements were selected and evaluated by 47 experts from more than 400 applications for Internet innovation all over the world, and are generally considered to represent the highest level of the Internet and information technology this year.
