On December 27, 2021, the China Computer Federation (CCF) selected 9 CCF fellows in 2021, and Xie Tao, Chair Professor of the School of Computer Science of Peking University, was successfully selected, and the reason for the selection: He has achieved important results in software testing technology and software analysis research, and has made important contributions to CCF academic exchanges.

Xie Tao is a chair professor at the School of Computer Science of Peking University, deputy director of the Key Laboratory of High Confidence Software Technology of the Ministry of Education (Peking University), and deputy secretary-general of the New Engineering Construction Committee of Peking University. He was elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Distinguished Scientist of the American Computer Society (ACM), and a Fellow of the Chinese Computer Society (CCF). He has won the Science Exploration Award, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Science Fund and its continued funding, the NSF Faculty CAREER Award, the ACM SIGSOFT Outstanding Service Award, the IEEE Computer Society Software Engineering Technical Committee (TCSE) Outstanding Service Award, and the ASE 2021 Most Influential Paper Award. He serves as the deputy director of the CCF Software Engineering Committee, the chairman of the CCF-IEEE CS Young Scientist Award Subcommittee, the program committee chairman of the China Computer Conference (CNCC 2020), the co-chair of the program committee of ICSE 2021, the flagship international conference on software engineering, and the co-editor-in-chief of the Wiley journal Software Testing, Verification and Reliability (STVR). The main research areas include software engineering, system software, software security, trusted artificial intelligence.

CCF has established a fellowship system since 2008 to recognize outstanding members of CCF who have made outstanding achievements in the field of computing or have made outstanding contributions to CCF and have five consecutive years or more of membership experience. Fellowship is the highest academic honor for members in CCF, and currently, the number of CCF Fellows is 150, accounting for 0.32% of the number of professional members.
